Disgraced British spy Fielding Scott is given a chance to redeem himself in Berlin; he has to organise the defection of an East German scientist; everything goes disastrously wrong.

The fatal fiasco of the Beethoven defection has consequences; Fielding is tasked with finding and eliminating the traitor; Fielding begins to recruit his own private army.
