River Monsters

Biologist, extreme angler and adventurer Jeremy Wade returns for a third series in which he searches for some of the world's most frightening fish. In this episode, he goes to Papua New Guinea to investigate a spate of bizarre deaths on the Sepik River. The Sepik cuts through an island that is renowned for macabre rituals, head-hunters, bitter tribal conflict and even cannibalism. Now a new threat is ripping through the region - a type of fish with vice-like jaws has been terrifying local fishermen and has actually killed two men. This vicious creature tears chunks from its prey and is known for devouring certain male body parts. Known locally as the 'ball-cutter', this lone hunter is a fearsome foe. Jeremy has never fished in this part of the world before and he knows little of what might be out there. Nothing can prepare him for what he discovers - has he bitten off more than he can chew?
