Spooks the series 1-8

This is just a great series. The plots are not beyond the realms of reality. Characters are changed through each series as would likely be the case in reality, some can't take it, some are scapegoats, some are killed, etc. This, I think makes it even more realistic because you do not see the same faces series after series. For once the Americans (sorry) are played as others see them and not as they see themselves. The British also as having at least some competence. Other nations are portraid with realistic cultural differences.
There were a significant number of programs about Muslim fundmentalists which may not be appreciated by Muslims but I think it fairly represents events in the media at the time.
The interplay between the services and the political system where ministerial agendas are governed by political constraints and considerations different is also interesting. There as well characters come and go as would be the case in reality.
The change over of characters makes the team dynamics and the personal intereactions also more interesting. New members come and have to adjust in their own manner to what is going on. They also bring other perspectives and tools to the situations. Storylines from previous episodes are not always cleaned up and therefore left for the viewer to mull over.
The technology available to these people (whether real or not) is also thought provoking, as are the plot lines, where what, for example that is being reported in the media is not necessarily the whole picture where cultural and political divisions more nuanced and complicated that the media often portray.
All in all a great series and I can see why it is now in its 9th season.

Unhappy Oct 2011

Totally unfair price increase - last week £4.99 one £9.99 this is completely unreasonable please sort it out quickly.

Great series and great episodes, but the episode 2 file is corrupted and doesn't down load in full.
