Upstairs Downstairs, Series 1Caution

Open iTunes to preview or buy TV programmes.

One of the most loved television series of all time is brought back to life in a sumptuous production with a fresh new cast. It's 1936, and six years since parlourmaid Rose left 165 Eaton Place, fate brings her back, as housekeeper to its new owners: Sir Hallam and his wife Lady Agnes, and Maud, Lady Holland, his mother. Rose soon finds she has her work cut out as she recruits a new 'downstairs' family to help run the elegance and finery of the 'upstairs' world, but in both, it soon becomes apparent there lies a labyrinth of secrets, lies and scandal. Drama starring Dame Eileen Atkins, Keeley Hawes, Ed Stoppard and Claire Foy.

Customer Reviews

Very Good!

I thoroughly enjoyed this series and thought that the quality of both the acting and the storylines was great! However it did seem a little slow at first but once it got going I was very impressed. At first I wondered how they were going to manage to finish the storyline in just three episodes but I was very satisfied at the end of the last episode and thought they finished it really well! I hope they bring out another series (longer this time) very soon!

Enjoyed This A Lot

I really enjoyed this, good story line once it gets going. I had read in the newspaper reviews how Downton Abbey had been more of a success, but I think it is important to not expect Upstairs Downstairs to be Downton Abbey 2, if you watch with this mind set you will enjoy it for what is.

Reached a New Generation

Watched it on tv, LOVED IT! Really addictive if they bring out a new series I will cry, with HAPPINESS! Really Recomend It! And that's coming from a teenager!
