The multi-talented Ashton Kutcher, whose success spans film, television and social media, joins the cast of the Emmy® Award–nominated Two and a Half Men as the hit comedy series returns for its ninth season, continuing the laughs about men, women, sex, dating, divorce, mothers, single parenthood, surrogate families, money and, most importantly, love. Playing Internet billionaire Walden Schmidt, Kutcher (That ‘70s Show) joins Jon Cryer as the tightly wound Alan Harper, Angus T. Jones as Alan’s laidback son, Jake Harper, Holland Taylor as Alan’s narcissistic mother, Evelyn Harper, Marin Hinkle as Alan’s neurotic ex-wife Judith Harper and Conchata Ferrell as the brash and blue-collar Berta on the top-rated series. Revamped and re-energized, the newly “manned” sitcom was created and executive produced by Chuck Lorre and Lee Aronsohn.

R.I.P. Two and a Half Men

It's difficult to put into words just how terrible the new season of Two and a Half Men really is, I was willing to give this a chance, but right from the off something doesn't feel right, the normal supporting characters are timely as ever but they have lost their drive. There are of course the obvious pot shots from Chuck Lorre at Charlie Sheen which was to be expected, and then there is Ashton to put this, it was as if you were watching a completely different show, Two and a Half Men has always been a mixture of wit and glorious filthy humour and now it has resorted to relying on basic nudity for laughs and the jokes feel as if they are waiting for laughs as if it were Friends or Will and Grace. Suffice to say this is not the show that we have all been watching for eight years and it is definitely not a show that I will be watching for another eight. R.I.P. Two and a Half Men, we will always have reruns

No melodrama

Despite not having a lead character who has been around since the very first season, this opening episode was one of the funniest (personally) that i have seen so far. People are complaining about not having charlie sheen, but in reality it wasn't that charlie was funny, it was the lines and the set up the writers and directors gave him (seeing he failed at his own show tour). The episode delivered more punchy lines and has an amazing array of quotes. So rather than complaining about not having him on the show, people should watch it for the content. And for that reason, i highly recommend this episode.

Not really having watched Two and a Half Men before I was curious to see how Kutcher would be written in and Sheen written out.. Brilliant!, writers are certainly NOT to be messed with as Sheen is given a vitriolic but hilarious send off, then ultimately 'dusted off and out'.. I hope the series continues as the writers are obviously still on a roll. Kutcher looks great and does a neat job setting up a new thread for the story. It goes to show no star should hold any successful show to ransom. lets hope it has the b***s to continue.
