I think its possibly on par with Downton Abbey this year.

When it was released at Christmas 2010, I said to myself 'I have to watch this'....

It didnt let me down and infact, it was highly enjoyable however I couldnt think of it as anywhere near as good as its closest competitor; Downton Abbey however this year it has really pulled it out of the bag!

The show is just amazing, it has a fantastic cast, really good story lines and is set in the 1930's - What could be better then that?

The show has sort of jumped ahead a little from the last series and I'm still unsure of what happened to some of the characters in the last season but its only on its third episode however I will just say...

iTunes! UPLOAD THE DAMN EPISODES QUICKER! I HAD TO WAIT FOR WEEKS FOR THE FIRST TWO EPISODES!! And where is episode 3??

Anyway - Highly reccomended.

Alex Kingston and Keeley Hawes = PERFECTION!

I'm a huge fan of the series, but even I will admit that the first series of this drama (which was shown during a three day period at Christmas 2010) lacked character depth and an interesting storyline. Although that was probably due to the fact that they only had three episodes to develop a rather large group of characters and there just wasn't enough time to do so. However this series has been utterly amazing from the very first episode and the addition of Alex Kingston as Blanche Mottershead was the perfect idea from the casting department. Keeley Hawes and Alex Kingston may be my all time favourite actors, but even in my un-biased opinion, they're characters are clearly the most interesting in the whole show (along with Mr. Pritchard of course) - I just wish people would give this show a chance and stop comparing it to Downton. It's nothing like Downton and in my opinion is actually much better :)

Absolutly amazing !

It's an utterly fantastic portrayal of 1930s pre-war life !
