Album Review

After he won the fifth season of Deutschland Sucht den Superstar in 2008, singer Thomas Godoj released two albums on Sony, 2008's Plan A! (which included his number one hit "Love Is You") and 2009's Richtung G. His third album, So Gewollt, was self-financed and then picked up for release by SPV Records, and the title (which translates roughly to "Intended to Be Like This") suggests that Godoj didn't make any musical compromises as he did on his previous two albums. The record, mostly written by Godoj together with his bassist, Christian Bömkes, is his first to feature German lyrics on all tracks, offering 14 mainstream pop/rock songs recorded with members of his old band WiNK (which he led before becoming a contestant in the casting show).
