Long before the sci-fi concept albums and kimonos, Rush were just another group of teenage misfits trying to figure out how to play their favourite ‘60s rock singles in the basement. The trio revisit those wood-panelled roots on Feedback, a covers collection that sees Rush unlearn their tricky time signatures and just bash out garage classics like “Summertime Blues” using little more than adrenaline and muscle memory. Of course, these maestros can’t help but invest rave-ups like “Mr. Soul” and “Crossroads” with funky finesse.
