Puerto Rican singer Ismael Miranda has had a pretty impressive career, both as an interpreter of songs and as a composer in his own right, so it makes choosing just 16 tracks a difficult prospect. That being said, Fania did a pretty decent job on the Miranda edition of their La Herencia series, selecting tracks like "La Cama Vacía," "Borinquen Tiene Montuno," and "Las Cuarantas" to fill out the disc. All in all, a pretty good, bright selection of salsa from one of its great vocalists.

Puerto Rican Ismael Miranda became involved in popular music at a young age, participating in different local bands before teaming up with Andy Harlow. He debuted in 1967 with the release of an album recorded along with Joey Pastrana, featuring the hit "Rumbón Melon."
