Album Review

Peter Toh and Scottie Redix have been playing together for almost six years — long before Stryder was ever imagined. As many small bands start out, they've branched from one band to the other. The last promising band they were with, Yearly, unfortunately separated when their bassist, Eben D'Amico, went off to join Saves the Day. Not yet ready to quit on a life-long dream of starting their own band, they picked up a new bassist and formed Stryder. Influenced by such punk bands as Operation Ivy, it is definitely reflected in their music.

Punk rock band the Stryder consists of Peter Toh (guitar), Scottie Redix (drums), Nick Wendell (bass), and John Johansen (vocals). Growing up together in the same Long Island, NY, neighborhood, the four had been playing in various bands since they were very young. Toh and Redix originally formed the band Yearly, but when their bassist, Eben d'Amico, left to join Saves the Day, they decided to re-form as the Stryder, rounded out by Wendell and Johansen.
