Album Review

Stegosaurus' eponymous debut doesn't lumber like their namesake, but it nevertheless has a mighty roar. Like many post-grunge hard rock outfits, the group draws equally from classic metal and grunge, but they have greater ambition than most of their contemporaries. Taking their cue from Nirvana and Soundgarden (whose Matt Cameron plays percussion here), the trio wants to make literate hard rock with artistic inclination. There are times when their ambitions get the better of them, but on the whole, the album is a promising debut.
