Luis Miguel's first album of classic bolero, 1991's Romance, was successful enough to call for a sequel. Once again he revives Latin pop standards stretching back six decades. But he went to Los Angeles and did them in modern style, turning "Sin Ti", a dance tune written in the '40s by Pepe Guízar, into a lush ballad with synthesisers and just a bit of Latin percussion. "Yo Se Que Volveras" also puts passion against shiny new production—whomping arena drums and all.

In the United States, he was the first Latino artist to have two Spanish-language albums, Romance and Segundo Romance, go platinum.
