The verses on Only Built 4 Cuban Linx are so cinematically rich that, at times, Raekwon sounds like he's teaching a course in criminology. Conceptually, it's an album made for rap purists who appreciate nuanced hardcore lyrics and uniquely New York lingo—but there's universality here too. The visually dense "Incarcerated Scarfaces" and "Ice Cream" evoke the feeling of a mischievous sibling taking you to a grimy hangout spot—which you'll shamelessly want to revisit.
