Album Review

Sista Sista's debut album Jump Sista is reasonably engaging, trashy Euro-dance-pop in the vein of the Spice Girls. They lack the charisma and the songcraft of the Spices or All Saints, or even Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera, but they're fairly talented and have enough good moments — "Jump Sista, Jump Mista," "We Like to Dance (Na-Na-Na)," in particular — to make this pretty fun, albiet disposible, pop. Even so, it sometiimes hard to forget how self-consciously manufactured this all is, when faced with so much filler and songs as calculated as "Wanna Be a Popstar (You Gotta Know the Tricks)."
