Somewhere in time a record executive deemed it necessary, nay, crucial, to issue forth a complete anthology of Bay City Rollers' finest love songs, thinking that there was a large demand for such a product. So instead of unearthing new treasures from another group (or even a compilation of Bay City rarities), BMG roped up 16 hits and fan favorites for a love song-themed collection. Yes, there's "I Only Want to Be with You" and "Love Me Like I Love You," but most people looking for these songs will already own them and most of the other important moments on Love Songs. This is for die-hard fans only. Casual listeners would be better off getting just the hits on one of the many readily available greatest-hits collections on the market.

The Bay City Rollers were a Scottish pop/rock band of the '70s with a strong following among teenage girls. The origins of the group go back to the formation of the duo the Longmuir Brothers in the late '60s, consisting of drummer Derek Longmuir (b. March 19, 1952, Edinburgh, Scotland) and his bass-playing brother Alan (b. June 20, 1953, Edinburgh). They eventually changed their name to the Saxons, adding singer Nobby Clarke and John Devine.
