Album Review

Just one year on from his last LP, Jonny L returned with the next step. Though it doesn't have the completely unrestrained malevolence of Sawtooth, Magnetic betters its predecessor as a showcase for Jonny L's excellent and tremendously inventive production feel. He works the classic Zeppelin levee break into "Hard Clip (Interlude)" and offers at least six tracks of pure brilliance (including each of the first three). The album's several collaboration tracks (vocalist Lady Kier (Deee Lite) and British rapper Silvah Bullet) are rather hit and miss, but they're the only failings on a brilliant album.
