Album Review

This serviceable production by Roberto Roena received little attention on the airwaves; the talent and energy are all here, but this is no match for the earlier glories of the Fania years. Still, it is recommended for die-hard Apollo fans, with the peerless Luisito Carrión on vocals. Highlights include "Baila y Goza," "Mi Mambo Pide Campana," and "R + R = Apollo." ~ José A. A member of the Fania All Stars since 1973, Roberto Roena is a master of Latin percussion.
