Tania Libertad

About Tania Libertad

Although her repertoire first centred almost entirely on Peruvian folk music, Tania Libertad made a name for herself by adding traditional material from other South and Central American countries--playing boleros, ranchera, salsa and protest songs, among other styles, to great acclaim. In addition to working with Latin music notables such as guitarist Felix Casaverde and pianist Sonia Cornuchet, she has also collaborated with names from the rock and pop realms as well, including former Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera. And in 2002, the versatile Libertad released ARIAS DE OPERA … Y PORQUE NO?, her distinctive take on grand opera.
