Black Science Orchestra

About Black Science Orchestra

One of the projects that established the career of esteemed British DJ and producer Ashley Beedle, Black Science Orchestra reconnected house with its roots in disco and rare groove. The group released several acclaimed singles on Junior Boy's Own throughout the early '90s, mixing vintage samples with expansive keyboard solos. Walter's Room, the Orchestra's long-awaited full-length, finally arrived in 1996, and singles continued appearing on Beedle's Afro Art label through the early 2000s. The project largely went on hold as Beedle concentrated on his many other ventures, particularly the chart-topping X-Press 2, but Black Science Orchestra eventually returned, remixing artists such as Emma-Jean Thackray and Hollie Cook during the early 2020s.
