About Bluemolly

Bluemolly's first appearances go back to the mid-'90s, then using the name Ed's Too Short. Releasing their debut album on Birdcage Records and gaining a considerable following, Ed's Too Short embarked on an extensive touring season across the Southwest. However, following varied creative disagreements, the ensemble decided to split ways in 1998. It was then that Marcos Alves (vocals, guitar), Thom Martinez (bass), and Mario Santillan (drums), the three remaining elements of the former outfit, resolved to continue to play as a trio, selecting Bluemolly as the group's designation. Sustaining their main creative choices founded upon mellow lineaments of alternative pop/rock, and adding genuine settings and clear melodies, the band prepared their first album for more than two years. Trusting the disc's production to Marc Luperini and Ed Stasium, who formerly worked with such bands as Ramones and Soul Asylum, Bluemolly released Waited So Long in 2001. ~ Mario Mesquita Borges
