I think it was the first time I'd ever heard the sound of a banjo. I was probably around seven years old. I was mesmerized by it, and played it over and over. John Hartford, Aereo-Plain Paul Simon, Paul Simon Bonus Tracks Edition Willie Nelson, Red Headed Stranger These are three albums that have been with me since I was a teenager, have profoundly influenced the music I play and the way I write songs, and that I'm always in the mood to hear. Tell us why you chose this song. “Old Dog” I love this song because although it's one of the shortest, simplest, and quickest songs I ever wrote (wrote it in about ten minutes), it has had the most connection with people...and that's what music is about - connection.
