About Cut 'n' Move
Formed in Copenhagen, Denmark, in the early '90s, Cut 'N' Move was a club-oriented group specializing in dance-rap, urban contemporary, and acid jazz. Hip-hop was a major influence on the group, but Cut 'n' Move's recordings weren't made with rap's hardcore in mind -- it was in European dance-music circles that Cut 'N' Move received some attention. Members included rapper MC Zipp (who rapped with only a very slight trace of a Scandinavian accent), female singer Thera, and producers/mixers Jorn K and Per Holm. In 1991, Epic released the group's debut album, Get Serious, and chose the title song (a rap-dance number) as the first single. 2000's The Sound of Now followed after a long absence. ~ Alex Henderson
