Dillard & Clark

About Dillard & Clark

In the late 1960s, former Byrds singer/songwriter Gene Clark came together with multi-instrumentalist Doug Dillard of progressive bluegrass group the Dillards to form the duo Dillard & Clark. Together they recorded two albums, with the support of a stellar cast of California rock and bluegrass players. The resulting fusion of country, folk, and rock didn't take off commercially, but stands as a shining, influential moment in country rock. After the duo split, both Dillard and Clark went on to record as solo artists.
