Biography

Self-described as "galactic-forest rock," Golden Bear's jubilant sound is driven by themes of hope and excitement. As of mid-2007, the Austin, TX, band's evolving lineup included frontman Chris Gregory (guitar, vocals), Matt Gardiner (keyboards), Andy McAllister (drums), Brent Pennington (bass), Jamie Reaves (guitar), and Kullen Fuchs (multiple instruments). Gregory had met Pennington, Reaves, and McAllister on his radio show while they were members of the Arthurs. A few years after forming in 2003, Golden Bear released its self-titled debut, which included appearances from Pink Nasty and Jared Van Fleet of Voxtrot. They quickly followed up with To the Farthest Star, which arrived in April 2007.
