About Jody Reynolds
Although best known for the 1957 hit “Endless Sleep,” an artfully maudlin story-song that spawned the teenage death song genre, Jody Reynolds cultivated a considerable career anchored in a melodic sort of country. At his peak, he was a rockabilly rebel, in the Carl Perkins mode, but influenced more heavily by Western swing and at heart an old-time cowboy storyteller. While Reynolds had only one further hit, he continued to write songs while manning his music shop in Palm Springs, California, where he stayed until his death in 2008 at age 75
