About Marco Antonio Muñiz

Born in 1933 in Guadalajara, singer Marco Antonio Muñiz, aka El Embajador del Romanticismo (Romanticism Ambassador) and El Lujo de Mexico (Mexico's Luxury), debuted in January 1946 in Ciudad Juarez. After moving to Mexico City, he formed the successful trio Los Tres Ases with Juan Neri and Héctor González. In 1960, he left the trio to pursue a solo career, singing with the likes of Javier Solis, Maria Felix, Pedro Vargas, and Lola Beltran and delivering his romantic ballads on the world's most important stages, including New York's Madison Square Garden and Paris' Olympia. Across five decades, Muñiz toured worldwide and released more than 60 records. His legacy has been preserved by his sons Jorge Muñiz (a singer and a TV host) and Antonio Carlos Muñiz. ~ Drago Bonacich
