About Nicky Moore

b. c.1942, England. Moore underwent voice training, learning classical methods, attending Exeter Cathedral Choristers music school. Comfortable with tough rock songs and at ease with melodic ballads, he also plays lead guitar in his own bands. Additionally, Moore is an effective composer and his songs were used by Tiger, a jazz rock band co-led with Big Jim Sullivan, with which Moore recorded. Among other bands of which Moore was a member, touring and sometimes recording, are Samson, Joint Forces, Electric Sun, and Mammoth. With most of these bands, Moore wrote extensively. Moore has also led his own bands, among them, from 1969-74, Hackensack, which included guitarist Ray Majors, bass player Stu Mills and drummer Simon Fox. From 1992-2001, Moore led his Blues Corporation. His sidemen in this group included guitarists Nigel Bagge, Tommy Allen, Richard Studholme, Daniel J. Kyle and Moore’s son, Tim, blues harpists Colin Goody and Julian Webster-Greaves, bass players Pete Shaw and Grant Tunbridge, and drummers Stewart Childs and Ed Collins. Moore has also recorded with ex-Nazareth guitarist Manny Charlton. This heavy rock band, known as From Behind, was rounded out by four Swedish rockers, Mikael Fässberg, Fredrik Borg, Carl-Michael Hildesjö and Andreas Grufstedt.
