About Staggered Crossing

The rock group Staggered Crossing -- sometimes called simply StagX by fans -- is made up of lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist Julian "JT" Taylor, drummer Jeremy Elliott, bassist Dan Black, guitarist Bruce Adamson, and keyboardist and guitarist Darrell O'Dea. The talented five-member collaboration formed in Toronto, Canada, around 1997. The music the group offers is a mixture of rock, blues, and a little pop that most times comes out in what reviewers have called jam rock. The members of Staggered Crossing met up in high school. They shared one main interest in common, a joy that came when making music. After a lot of practicing, the group began to play local clubs. Soon they were performing and touring with bands like Spirit of the West, Big Sugar, Nickelback, and a number of others. It gave the members a chance to polish their skills and stage presence. In 2001, working under the Warner Music Canada label, Staggered Crossing finished a self-titled debut album. Some of the tracks from this first full-length recording are "Dancing in the Mist of the Night," "A Million Works of Art," "I Can't Whistle," "When the Morning Comes," and "I Might Be Gone." Music videos were made for some of the tunes, and gained new fans for the group. ~ Charlotte Dillon
