About Suzy Bogguss

Contemporary country singer Suzy Bogguss got her start playing in coffeehouses around the University Of Illinois, but soon embarked upon a series of national DIY tours, which honed her live-performance chops. After moving to Nashville in 1985, Boggus was discovered by an executive at Liberty/Capitol while singing at Dolly Parton’s theme park, Dollywood. With her first several records, Bogguss moved progressively further toward a pop-country direction, achieving superstar status with her fourth effort, VOICES IN THE WIND. Matching smooth, modern production and singer-songwriter-style material with a strong, traditional-sounding voice helped Bogguss appeal to an unusually broad range of country fans. In 2003 she released an album of Western swing music with Asleep At the Wheel frontman Ray Benson, and in 2007 returned with SWEET DANGER, which took her pop leanings to their logical conclusion.
