About Trouble Funk

A pioneering group of the D.C.-originated funk subgenre known as go-go, Trouble Funk earned a reputation for their electrifying live performances, and released a string of hit singles in the 1980s, including “Hey Fellas” and “Drop the Bomb.” The 10-man band was one of the first acts to spread the go-go sound outside of D.C. (DROP THE BOMB appeared on the famed New York label Sugarhill Records in 1982). Trouble Funk’s recordings have served as building blocks for countless hip-hop songs by such artists as the Beastie Boys, BDP, and LL Cool J.
