About Twenty Twenty

Despite little mainstream support, Essex trio Twenty Twenty built up a huge teen following thanks to their clever use of social networking and Busted/McFly-esque punk-pop sound. The band formed in 2009 when brothers, lead vocalist and guitarist Sam and bassist Jack Halliday, invited drummer Sonny Watson-Lang to join the band which had inspired them to put their university studies on hold. Inspired by the likes of blink-182 and the Jonas Brothers, they began touring extensively across the U.K., supported Saving Aimee and Go:Audio, and released two independent EPs, Forever, and Raise Your Hands, before signing a deal with Geffen Records. Utilizing their online presence, they streamed the recording of their debut album with Preston (the Ordinary Boys), Ricky Ross (Deacon Blue), and Julian Emery (Lissie) on their MySpace page and released their first major-label single, "Worlds Apart," in 2010. ~ Jon O'Brien
