About Vince Mendoza

A multi-Grammy-winning arranger and composer, Vince Mendoza is known for his sophisticated arrangements that combine post-bop jazz, classical, and pop. Emerging in the 1980s, he has garnered acclaim for his arrangements for other artists who include Joni Mitchell and Charlie Haden. Mendoza spent decades as a conductor with the Dutch Metropole Orkest; he also issued his own albums and collaborations with Elvis Costello and John Scofield, among others. His acclaimed leader albums include 1999's Epiphany and 2011's Nights on Earth. He conducted the Czech National Symphony Orchestra on 2021's Freedom Over Everything and reunited with Metropole Orkest for 2023's Olympians.
