Hong Kong, despite being so small, has some of South China’s most striking and valuable natural landscapes. This unique system, with its countless routes, lies very close to the city: one is never far away from natural settings and beguiling trails. The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department has launched its iPhone app to showcase various hiking trails in Hong Kong. You can select suitable route with reference to your interest, physical fitness and experience to enjoy hiking in the countryside of Hong Kong.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Have you try to use this app for hiking with such unclean route map and less information, I am sure the people will get lost and put people in risk.
Oh dear... Lucky to get 1 star
I don't think the developer has quite caught onto the digital era...
Maps are jpg images with a 1980's Legend. Come on guys - we are in 2016 aren't we?
Once you've spotted the link to the online map, it doesn't show the route and is satellite image only - not the most useful in dense woodland trail where you can't see the trail floor, or where gps signal is poor so you can't gauge if it is tracking you correctly or not.
But before you've gone through that torture, you will notice that there doesn't appear to be any way of seeing all trails on one map to make an initial choice from. What a great way to plan your day out.
I gave up at that point as realised that this must be a HK Government backed app - a commercial enterprise would have folded by now if it had to survive on delivering this out dated type of product...
