Bought it as a paid app and realised it became subscription when I needed to annotate

I bought it as part of a bundle and specifically for the annotation and editing features. And when I opened it for the first time in a while the tools were all greyed out and I was asked to upgrade to pro I got really confused. I thought I opened the wrong app and had to double check if this was the app I bought.

I understand that apps are regularly updated and developers need to eat so it’s unreasonable to expect to pay once and use the app forever. And I’m glad that the app is going subscription-based as it means it’ll be around and maintained and not going anywhere soon.

But still that was a bizarre experience to have bought an app and then get asked to start paying monthly to use the features you thought you paid for. Maybe it could be done differently, like keeping the old app around and not updated and having the subscription-based app as a new app in the AppStore I dunno?

Missing feature: lasso selection tool

This app is far superior to apps such as Goodnotes for editing pdfs. Two features stand out: the highlight tool works on searchable pdf text and the app can reduce pdf file size. However, the app also omits a very basic function, which is a lasso selection tool. Given how handwritten sentences overlap each other, a rectangular selection tool is incapable of selecting one sentence but not others. The existing selection tool is also very buggy and crashes the app if I try to move too many objects. An improvement is direly needed.

The user experience of the keyboard mode is horrible

As a university student, we often need to check the information from other note which cant switch to other document by the function key.
There are the same problem for the word mode and insert note, the app don’t provide any way to finish the function while the user just use the keyboard.

It is better to provide a ‘esc’ key to finish the mode or back to select document. (From ‘BEAR’ app)
