Album Review

Bouncy, heavy on the melodies and nowhere near as unaccommodating as their earlier work, D'Arcangelo's debut EP for Nature is some of their most agreeable and engaging. Of the brothers' many releases, the early new wave influence is strongest here, with bits of the genetic material of Yaz, Depeche Mode and Tangerine Dream in strong evidence.

Mixing neo-electro, minimal techno, and other flavors of underground dance music, Germany's D'Arcangelo consists of twin brothers Fabrizio and Marco D'Arcangelo. Lovers of new wave and dark synth pop, the twins met the likeminded Max Durante and formed Automatic Sound Unlimited. The project premiered in 1992 with the Roman's Attak EP and lasted two years before it dissolved.
