Album Review

Peaceful Pond is a set of very soft and melodic compositions. Dean Evenson and d'Rachael have created a masterpiece of acoustic and pastoral ambience. Field recordings enhance Evenson's flutes and piano, d'Rachael's harp, and Jonathan Kramer and Dudley Evenson's hand harps. The CD "is lovingly dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of our natural wetlands." The goal of the Soundings of the Planet label is their motto: "Peace Through Music." The denizens of the label approach that task diligently and holistically. If the world is aligned properly, all else will fall into place. This CD will appeal to fans of Tingstad & Rumbel, Lisa Lynne, Riley Lee, Stan Richardson, and Richard Warner.

In the '70s, Evenson and his wife Dudley traveled across the country with early portable video equipment to document "the awakening consciousness as it was manifesting in people's lives."
