Album Review

The first step in making a Tito Nieves compilation: include his greatest hit, "Sonámbulo," preferably somewhere near the beginning of the album. Next, add other favorites, like "Soy Cantante," "Le Gusta Que la Vean," "Seguiré Mi Camino," and "De Mi Enamórate" and suddenly you've got yourself a pretty decent collection. Universal Music Latino certainly followed this formula when they were putting together Pura Salsa, all of which means that it's a good — albeit predictable — album. Inclusions like "Mia" and "Lo Que Son las Cosas" keep the record from becoming one of many, though Pura Salsa should still not be consumed by anyone owning Nieves' major albums. But as a nice overview, it should do the trick.
