Known primarily for standards and show tunes, Tony Bennett takes a detour, stopping by the local playground to croon for the kids. Whether he’s doing a duet with a Muppet or reinterpreting Dr. Seuss’ “Because We’re Kids”, he never strays from what has always worked for him: jazzy, polished pop sung in his impeccable style. His takes on tracks like “When You Wish Upon a Star” can’t help but have a supper-club vibe, while songs like “The Inch Worm” are given an air of nostalgia.
