Demand is high for this re-release of Peter Kater's third album, previously released in 1986 and out of print for the last two years. Strong on engaging melodies, this album also showcases the remarkable talents of some very popular and respected guest musicians, including Spyro Gyra's Kim Stone on bass, Don Grusin on synthesizer, Jeff Jarvis on trumpet and flugelhorn, Bob Rebholz on sax, and Dave Samuels on vibes and marimba. Kater's classical approach to amelody is interwoven with an aggressive contemporary jazz setting, producing thoroughly satisfying results.
