Instantly reach the people in your life—for free. Messenger is just like texting, but you don't have to pay for every message (it works with your data plan).

Not just for Facebook friends: Message people in your phone book and just enter a phone number to add a new contact.

Group chats: Create groups for the people you message most. Name them, set group photos and keep them all in one place.

Photos and videos: Shoot videos and snap selfies or other photos right from the app and send them with one tap.

Free calls: Talk as long as you want, even with people in other countries. (Calls are free over Wi-Fi. Otherwise, standard data charges apply.)

Even more ways to message:
Bring your conversations to life with stickers.
Preview your camera roll photos and videos without leaving the conversation--then choose the perfect ones to send.
Record voice messages when you have more to say.

Extra features:
Know when people have seen your messages.
Forward messages or photos to people who weren't in the conversation.
Search for people and groups to quickly get back to them.
Turn on location to let people know when you're nearby.
See who's available on Messenger and who's active on Facebook.
Turn off notifications when you're working, sleeping or just need a break.
Stay logged in so you never miss a message.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Messenger uses location data to make features work, help people connect and more.

Mrs. Pucu

It’s buggy and slow, not optimalised for the new OS. Since the new update, it crashes randomly even after I re-installed it. The keyboard doesn’t work properly, especially when you try to switch between the emoji and letter keys. Sometimes the ‘message reaction’ feature blocks the text itself.
To add some ‘opinions’, I think it’s kind of unneeded for the app to show who comes online on the top of the screen, beacuse it only notifies me when certain people do and I’ve stopped talking to some of them a week ago, so why does it show me them?
In conclusion, messenger needs some improvements. They need to focus on the core of the app, not on the freaking filters and the ‘story’ feature.

Update: The message reaction no longer covers the letters anymore, however.. ads? Really? Adverts are the last thing this app needs.

Still full of keyboard issues on iOS 11

Aren’t you using your own app? It’s been almost two months since the release of iOS 11 and Messenger is still full of annoying issues, mostly with the keyboard. For example, when you switch to Emoji Keyboard from a keyboard without Prediction it covers up the message bar and the Send button, rendering iOS’s stock Emoji Keyboard unusable in Messenger. Also, when I open a conversation it sometimes brings up the keyboard without modifying the layout to accomodate it, which ends up in a mess. Half the messages are covered, and so os the message bar. Feel free to contact me to help you reproduce and fix these issues.

Works but i have a question

I saw some screenshots from messenger on the internet where the owner of the screenshot was able to see how much messages did he/she sent/received. I red that since August 2017 people who have iOS are able to use that feature. However it's December 2017 and I still can't use that feature. I have iPhone 7 with 10.3.3 and the latest version of Messenger. Can anyone help me?
