b. 5 July 1954, Ealing, London, England. Gold, who has been a DJ for over 25 years, has a reputation as one of the hardest working DJs in the UK. He broadcasts on Fridays and Mondays on London’s Kiss 100 FM, DJs all over the world, promotes his own club nights and runs his own label, Good:As with business partner Giles Sawney. In the UK’s DJ magazine readers’ poll of the Top 100 DJs In The World, he was voted number 22. Gold is managed by Judge Jules’ management company, Serious Artist Management. Originally, Gold was a soul DJ and played at the popular Caister Soul Weekends in the UK before presenting various radio shows, including one on London’s Capital Radio. During the 80s, he broadcast on several pirate radio stations and wrote for the UK magazine, Blues And Soul. His musical style is now more orientated towards trance and energetic, uplifting house. He has played at most of the major clubs and events in the south of England and has been a resident at ‘Peach’ at the Camden Palace for more than five years. He has also DJed in the antipodes, South Africa, Tel Aviv, Canada, USA and the Balearic Islands, visiting Ibiza several times during the summer clubbing season. He has mixed many dance music compilations and had two mix albums in the UK Top 10 simultaneously in 1997 -Kiss Mix 97 and Club Cuts Volume 2. He has remixed the work of artists such as Jez And Choopie, 666, Berri, Spirito, Ambrosia, Happy Nation, 2HD (aka Ferry Corsten) and Carl Cox. Always a crowd-pleasing DJ, Gold is also well liked within the music industry.
