One of the smoothest Christian rappers out there, Knowdaverbs has recorded for the Gotee label, home to Grits and affiliated with dc Talk. He started rapping at an early age, and spent time dancing with Grits during the mid-'90s. His debut, The Syllabus, was released in 1999. Action Figure followed one year later, and Knowdaverbs (his name a combination of "knowledge" and "verbalize") began hosting the Christian video show Planet Hip-Hop (on the Sky Angel satellite network). The release of his third album, Unlocked (the first where he was billed as Verbs), was delayed slightly when he spent six months in South Africa on a mission with his home church in Nashville. ~ John Bush
