About Melina León

At the age of 15, Puerto Rican singer Melina León joined a group known as Las Cheris, later forming a female act named Ruby, who recorded an album issued by Musical Productions. After being discovered by a local label executive, Melina León had the opportunity to make her first record in 1997, called Mujeres Liberadas, followed by 1998's Con Los Pies Sobre la Tierra. Soon after, she was climbing Puerto Rican charts with "Me Voy de Fiesta" and debuting as a composer with "Te Amo." After issuing Baño de Luna, the singer was awarded for Best Female Merengue Record by Premios Tu Musica 2000. ~ Drago Bonacich
