Mouserocket are the latest group effort featuring Big Ass Truck guitarist Robby Grant. The group is self-described "cello-pop with face-melter noise interludes." With smart, moody guitar riffs, often eerie vocals, and a unique blend of distorted guitars and classic cello, Mouserocket are indeed one of a kind -- unique yet accessible. The quintet features Memphis music powerhouse Alicja Trout (the Lost Sounds, River City Tanlines, and many more) on guitar and part-time vocals, Hemant Gupta on bass, drummer Robert Barnett (also of Big Ass Truck), and cellist Jonathan Kirkscey (Memphis Symphony Orchestra). The group released a three-song 7" on Wrecked 'Em Wreckords as well as a full-length self-titled album in 2004. A second LP is anticipated for release in early 2007. ~ Megan Frye
