Notes to Self

About Notes to Self

Canadian hip-hop collective Notes to Self grew from the collaborative efforts of MCs Swamp Donkey, Bronze One, and Roshin, along with DJ Dopey and writer/illustrator Elicser. Styled after classic golden age hip-hop crews like De La Soul and Hieroglyphics, the Notes to Self collective worked both individually and as a team in the production of various recordings, beginning with Bronze One's solo EP Just Add Water in 2003. The Warning Shots EP preceded their 2009 full-length debut, A Shot in the Dark, and both were met with critical praise and high charting on college radio. Their second proper full-length, Target Market [Recoil], saw release in early 2013. ~ Fred Thomas
