Adeline was accustomed to not quite knowing what was going on around her. Twenty years living in nations whose languages were everything other than English, ensured that.
However, she was not accustomed to hallucinations – especially ones that included her waking up outside Nightelm Garrison. The garrison was the beginning training grounds for game characters of human and dwarven stock in the online roll playing game, Tales of Lyria.
In the game realm of Lyria, cities are filled with all manner of races, class trainers and adventure. To a woman who spent her life teaching English to students of other languages, the game is a way to connect to the world around her. Lyria was a place of magic, danger and opportunity at every character level.

Waking up in a live action version of the game had never crossed her mind. Despite her disbelief at what her eyes saw and her ears heard, she was forced to accept that she had managed a way to make her life even more unpredictable. After all being a mimetic sorceress named Adeline Murphy couldn’t be as bad an omen as it sounded right?
