Rendy Pandugo has certainly come a long way since he posted his first songs in 2012. The former Jakarta café-circuit mainstay has since steadily built an acclaimed career and densely vibrant songbook of pop, R&B and jazz. First breaking through with his cover of Sheila on 7’s “Sebuah Kisah Klasik” in 2016, Rendy showcased sophisticated songwriting and a husky, silky voice, amplified further on 2017 debut The Journey and his 2019 collab EP AIR with Afgan and Isyana Sarasvati. His best moments include “7 Days”, which features snappy pop rhythms and soft, guitar-driven melodies as well as “By My Side,” where he gently croons atop rich textures.
