EDITORS’ NOTES

The sultry, slinky electronica of Bandung's Homogenic (sometimes styled HMGNC) is a spectacle of sight and sound, bringing together curiously mechanical jitters and lush, organic soundscapes. Taking their name from Björk's 1997 album, the group formed in 2002 with a similar penchant for eccentric flourishes. Revived in 2010 after a four-year hiatus, their sound has evolved in a more lively pop direction, though the mystery and allure are still present in the dark corners of every track.
