Foot Steps or First Steps?

I like Chris DeBurgh's classic stuff and thought I'd give this a twirl. Disappointing. Covers, some over produced and worse than the originals, the odd one alright. DeBurgh can do much better than this. Hopefully these are first steps in the right direction.

Well worth a listen

This album is a new departure for Chris de Burgh in that it is an album of cover versions. Every song on the album influenced how CdeB developed his own style of songwriting and although fans would prefer an album of original songs, this is an interesting addition to the collection because you can see his influences here. There isn't a bad song on the album and CdeB does each song justice. Highlights are 'Polly Von' by Peter Paul and Mary, 'All Along The Watchtower' by Bob Dylan and 'The Long and Winding Road' by Lennon/Mc Carthy. The album also features songs by Pete Seger, The Byrds and Don McLean. Well worth a listen.
