Canciones de Mi Padre

Canciones de Mi Padre

A bona fide pop, rock and country star, Linda Ronstadt drew from a new source of inspiration for this GRAMMY®-winning 1987 collection of mariachi songs, the first of three albums celebrating her Mexican American heritage. With composer Rubén Fuentes as musical director, Ronstadt channels her ranchera idol Lola Beltrán and soars over the lush trumpets and violins of “Por Un Amor” and “Tú Sólo Tú”. But it’s the visceral howling on “La Charreada” that best shows Ronstadt’s artistic range.
